Were back again with our monthly meeting with lots of things to cover off. We are heading into the next financial year and that mean fees are due.
Planning is well ahead for the up coming SAPMA Expo, where Warbirds will be running a club display titled ‘Naval Aviation – The Flying Seaman’.
Bring along all your Model Expo goodies and progress builds for our general forum, and dont forget to bring along any ‘Gunna Builds’ that may have actually started their lonely journey across the work bench!
See you all there………..
As the dust settles we can now reflect on what was a great Model Expo, and another opportunity to present a club display with our ‘MIGS’ theme. There was much to see this year with a ever growing public interest and a wide variety of trader stands. The quality of kits on the tables was awesome to see with some real standouts, which no doubt made it difficult for the judging.
This event is over three days with a large Swap and Sell on the Monday morning, and some great demonstrations covering various modelling subjects. My favorite was ‘figure painting with oils’ which was presented by Ben Flood, and was extremely helpful. The RC guys from Victorian Armoured RC Club were outside with their large scale RC tanks, which is a change of pace to static models.
Here are some pics of this event.
This was our last meeting before Model Expo so this event became a discussion point along with our pending club display. Members brought along various kits and goodies which become a focal point, along with those who brought along kits to build – me included.
Sorry with this very late notice but our next meeting is on this Sunday, so look forward to seeing you all there.
Model Expo is almost here and will be on over the Queens birthday long weekend, 10th-12th June. Warbirds will be there with our club display featuring MIGs as well as some general kits, so this is a great opportunity to show the public who we are and what we are about.
We are making preparations for a trip to take part in SAPMA Model Expo, being held on 14th-14th October. Warbirds will have club display called “Naval Aviation – The Flying Seamen” so it would be great to see as many members as possible take part.
And finally, don’t forget to bring along new works in progress, Expo entries, new goodies or general show and tell. And just for the fun of it bring along any kits in progress to continue working on at the meeting!
See you all there!
